In the coming decades, our world needs far more critical minerals including copper, lithium, and cobalt, to build electric infrastructure, vehicles, data centers, and electronics. The mining industry is making 10x fewer discoveries per dollar spent on exploration compared to 30 years ago because the easy-to-find, near surface deposits have largely been discovered.

KoBold is the leading scientific mineral exploration, mine development, and technology development company. Our goal is to turn mineral exploration into a repeatable science to discover the minerals the world needs—by integrating artificial intelligence, human intelligence, and new technology. Our multidisciplinary teams of data scientists, engineers, and geologists work together to build data systems, design new sensors, and establish industry-leading workflows to develop and test subsurface predictions on our exploration projects.

Our first discovery, Mingomba, is a high-grade copper deposit in Zambia, found after spending materially less than industry average. We are developing Mingomba with the same technical rigor that we apply to exploration. The Mingomba team brings together mine and processing engineers, geologists, data scientists, software engineers, and community, health & safety, construction, and operations specialists.

By combining industry knowledge and cutting edge technology, we are developing Mingomba into a world class project that has safer and more predictable outcomes for ourselves, partners, and communities. It is expected to create thousands of good jobs for generations.

KoBold runs exploration programs in eight countries, all with the potential for another discovery.

About the Role

We're looking for a sharp, systems-minded Executive Assistant to support our Chief Investment Officer based in London, and 2 VPs (one in London and one in South Africa). You'll be embedded in a fast-moving, Slack-first culture where things change quickly, and attention to detail is the difference between smooth and chaotic. You'll be trusted with sensitive information and high-visibility communications that touch every employee at KoBold.

We take hiring seriously, because we're building a team, not just filling a seat. If you move forward, you'll complete a timed written assessment designed to test your judgment, resourcefulness, and communication under pressure. From there, you'll interview with our EA team and, if you advance, with the executives you'd be supporting directly. We're a remote company, which means communication and collaboration aren't nice-to-haves. They're the foundation of how we operate.

Our EA team is tight-knit and genuinely invested in each other's success, and we're looking for someone who will add to that, not just show up and do their own thing. The process takes time by design. We want to make sure this is the right fit for you as much as it is for us.

Responsibilities

• Executive Support
• Own complex, frequently shifting calendars for two busy executives
• Coordinate meetings across time zones; manage last-minute changes without losing composure
• Arrange domestic and international travel including flights, hotels, and ground transport, and handle changes quickly
• Prepare agendas and briefing materials so executives walk into every meeting ready
• Take notes and track follow-ups when requested
• Handle expense reports, approvals, and administrative tasks with speed and accuracy
• Triage inbound requests and route communications through Slack and other tools

Qualifications

• You're the kind of EA who doesn't need to be told what to do twice and doesn't need hand-holding to get things done. You can operate independently, manage competing priorities, and make smart judgment calls on your own. At the same time, you know that great EA work is a team sport. You're a natural collaborator who shows up for the broader EA team, shares context freely, and pitches in when someone else needs support.
• You communicate with precision: short, clear, no fluff, because you know everyone around you is busy. You're a natural relationship-builder who earns trust quickly and protects it fiercely. You treat sensitive information like it was your own.
• You bring positive energy to every collaboration and have a natural ability to motivate and enthuse the people around you, even when the work is demanding or the timeline is tight. You have a sunny disposition that's genuinely yours. You understand that you're often the messenger in the middle, and you don't take a curt Slack reply personally.

Minimum Qualifications

• Based in London (close to Shoreditch is a plus!)
• 7+ years supporting senior executives, ideally two or more simultaneously, in a fast-moving environment
• Exceptional organizational and project management skills; you've owned multi-step workflows with multiple stakeholders before
• Flawless attention to detail; you're the person who catches the typo in the deck title
• Comfortable in real-time communication tools (Slack preferred) and quick to learn new systems
• Already experimenting with AI, or excited to learn
• Professional, discreet, and unflappable under pressure
• Available evenings and weekends when the situation calls for it
• A genuine team player who collaborates well with other EAs and pitches in beyond your immediate scope when needed

What to Expect

Joining KoBold means getting the opportunity for hands-on exposure to our exploration projects around the world. All employees are expected to travel to project sites, with a minimum of one week per year. Field-facing and technical roles spend significantly more time in the field.
