LAYIQ Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Roleworthy Labs Inc. (“LAYIQ,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use LAYIQ.

LAYIQ’s mission includes protecting job seekers’ privacy. We do not sell user data. We aim to collect only what we need to provide and secure the service.

1. Information we collect

We collect information in the following categories.

Account information

When you create or use an account, we may collect:

name, if provided;
email address;
authentication provider identifiers;
account ID;
login/session information;
security and account-status information.

Authentication may be handled by a third-party authentication provider.

Job-search workspace information

You may provide information such as:

resume text or profile information;
job preferences;
target roles, locations, seniority, compensation preferences, and keywords;
saved jobs, applied jobs, notes, and job pipeline information;
cover-letter inputs and generated drafts;
feedback or support messages.

Usage and device information

We may collect limited technical and usage information, such as:

pages or features used;
timestamps and logs;
browser and device information;
IP address or approximate location derived from technical logs;
error and performance data;
security and anti-abuse signals.

Payment information

Payments are processed by a third-party payment provider. We may receive limited payment-related information such as:

payment status;
customer ID;
subscription ID;
plan status;
billing period dates;
cancellation status;
last payment status.

We do not store your full payment card number.

Communications

If you contact us, we may collect your message, contact information, and related support details.

2. Information you should not provide

Do not provide highly sensitive information unless necessary and specifically requested through a secure LAYIQ flow.

Do not upload or enter:

Social Security numbers;
government identification numbers;
full payment card numbers;
bank credentials;
medical records;
passwords for third-party services;
information about other people that you do not have permission to provide.

3. How we use information

We use information to:

create and manage accounts;
provide LAYIQ features;
run job-search, fit-review, pipeline, and cover-letter workflows;
personalize and improve the experience;
process subscriptions and billing status;
provide support;
secure the service;
prevent abuse, fraud, and misuse;
debug errors and maintain reliability;
comply with legal obligations.

4. AI processing

LAYIQ uses AI-assisted features to help with job discovery, fit review, cover letters, resume-positioning suggestions, and related workflows.

To provide these features, we may send relevant User Content to AI service providers or models. We aim to send only what is needed for the requested feature. AI outputs may be inaccurate or incomplete, and you should review them before using them.

We do not use your data to sell advertising profiles. We do not sell your resume or job-search data.

5. How we share information

We may share information with:

authentication providers;
payment processors;
hosting, runtime, and database providers;
AI service providers;
email, support, logging, analytics, and security providers;
professional advisors;
legal or government authorities where required by law;
successors in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, or sale of assets.

Service providers are allowed to use information only to provide services to LAYIQ or as otherwise permitted by law and their own terms.

6. We do not sell personal information

LAYIQ does not sell personal information.

LAYIQ does not sell resume data, job-search data, profile data, cover-letter content, saved jobs, or application notes.

If our practices change, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide any legally required choices.

7. Cookies, analytics, and your choices

We use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to:

keep you signed in;
remember preferences;
secure the service;
understand product usage;
improve performance.

We use PostHog and Vercel Web Analytics to help us understand how LAYIQ is used. Some third-party providers may also use cookies or similar technologies as part of authentication, payments, analytics, or security.

Consistent with a US-market launch, we do not show a cookie-consent banner before analytics starts. Product analytics are on by default for signed-in LAYIQ accounts.

When you are signed in, you can manage product analytics in the LAYIQ Account Center. That account setting applies whenever we can resolve your signed-in account and stops future PostHog and Vercel product analytics, including server-side product events associated with that account. You can turn it back on in the Account Center. This setting does not disable essential security, fraud-prevention, billing, or error and reliability logging.

8. Data retention

We keep information for as long as needed to provide LAYIQ, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent abuse, and maintain security.

You may request deletion of your account or certain information. Some information may be retained where required or permitted by law, including payment records, security logs, fraud-prevention records, backup records, or records needed to resolve disputes.

9. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for using secure devices and networks.

10. Your choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:

access personal information;
correct inaccurate information;
delete personal information;
receive a copy of certain information;
opt out of sale or sharing of personal information;
limit certain uses of sensitive information;
appeal a privacy-rights decision;
not be discriminated against for exercising privacy rights.

11. California privacy notice

California residents may have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act.

In the past twelve months, LAYIQ may have collected the following categories of personal information:

identifiers, such as email address, account ID, and authentication identifiers;
internet or electronic network activity information, such as logs and usage events;
professional or employment-related information you provide, such as resume content, job preferences, and job-search materials;
commercial information, such as subscription status and payment history received from a payment processor;
inferences generated to provide job-fit, search, or writing-assistance features;
sensitive personal information only to the extent you choose to include it in content you provide.

We collect this information from you, your use of the service, authentication providers, payment providers, and service providers.

We use this information for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.

We do not sell personal information. We do not knowingly share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

California residents may contact support@layiq.ai to exercise privacy rights.

12. Children

LAYIQ is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

13. International users

LAYIQ is operated from the United States. If you use LAYIQ from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States or other locations where our service providers operate.

14. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify users.
