Neurosurgery Physician Assistant

Overview

Bassett Healthcare Network, a progressive, academic health system in Central New York and a major teaching affiliate of Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons, is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the Department of Neurosurgery.

• Salary Range: $142,809 - $186,000
• Sign-on Bonus: up to $75,000
• Location: Cooperstown, NY
• Job Description & Responsibilities
• Join an established group of 2 Surgeons and 2 Advanced Practice Clinicians
• Practice within Bassett Healthcare Network, an integrated system delivering care across an 8-county region
• Responsibilities include clinic where you will see new and established patients, post-op visits, telemedicine, floor management of post-op patients, and first assisting in the OR
• No Neurosurgery call – General Surgical call is optional

The Neurosurgery team- Bassett Medical Center has a strong relationship with the University of Rochester Medical Center and Columbia University for teaching, education, and resident involvement.

Previous surgical experience preferred but not essential

Hours include but not limited to: Clinic hours typically run from 8:00-4:30, and OR days are variable with two-to-three occurrences per week.

Requirements

• National Certification as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner
• New York medical license (or eligibility to obtain)
• BLS Certification Required
• DEA Required
