Corrections Lieutenant

Blair County Prison is seeking a shift lieutenant. This position is a member of management and functions as a mid-level manager to oversee responsibilities associated with department budget, employee relations, inmate control and custody, labor relations, operations, planning, policies/procedures, records retention, and staff scheduling and work assignments. The incumbent will also serve as officer in charge during the absence of the warden or deputy wardens.

Essential duties include regularly touring the facility; maintaining department standards for attendance and tardiness administration/documentation, and records retention; enforcing County and facility policies and procedures with firmness, impartiality, and tact; reviewing or performing staff scheduling; keeping stop staff well-informed; ensuring work performed by subordinate staff and inmates is done satisfactorily; performing varied administrative tasks for warden, deputy wardens, or customers such as Board of Commissioners, Human
