Wire EDM / Sinker EDM Machinist at Laborup | LAYIQ

Wire EDM Operation: Set up, program, and operate Agie Charmilles Wire EDM machines to manufacture complex tooling and precision components.
Sinker EDM Operation: Set up and operate Agie Charmilles Sinker EDMs, including electrode setup, burn optimization, and wear compensation.
Programming: Create, edit, and optimize Wire EDM programs using CAM software and machine controls to maximize efficiency and accuracy.
Precision Machining: Manufacture tooling, fixtures, production parts, and assemblies requiring tight tolerances and complex geometries.
Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, engineering drawings, and machining specifications to ensure parts meet print requirements.
Inspection: Perform in-process and final inspections using micrometers, calipers, indicators, height gages, and other precision measuring equipment.
Manual Machining: Utilize mills, lathes, grinders, and other shop equipment to fabricate electrodes, fixtures, tooling, and support EDM operations.
Process Improvement: Troubleshoot machining issues, recommend manufacturing improvements, and collaborate with engineering to improve producibility.
Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine preventive maintenance on EDM machines, dielectric systems, filtration systems, and related equipment.
Safety & Housekeeping: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following all company safety procedures.

Required
EDM Experience: 4+ years of Wire EDM and/or Sinker EDM machining experience in a precision manufacturing environment.
Programming: Experience programming and operating Agie Charmilles EDM equipment or comparable Wire and Sinker EDM machines.
Blueprint Reading: Strong ability to read blueprints, GD&T, and engineering drawings while holding tight dimensional tolerances.
Inspection Skills: Proficient with precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, indicators, height gages, and other inspection tools.
Machining Knowledge: Experience planning setups, selecting tooling, troubleshooting machining issues, and working independently with minimal supervision.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work overtime, including occasional Saturdays.
Preferred
Technical Training: Apprenticeship, technical school, or vocational machining education.
Toolroom Experience: Background in tool and die, mold making, fixture building, or precision tooling.
Additional Equipment: Experience operating manual mills, lathes, surface grinders, jig borers, or other toolroom equipment.
Continuous Improvement: Proven ability to optimize machining processes and recommend improvements to tooling or manufacturability.
