Legal Assistant (3+)

O’Hagan Meyer LLC, a national law firm, has an opening for a full-time Legal Assistant in its Seattle, WA office. Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years of experience and must be familiar with Labor Employment and other fields of law. This will be full-time, hybrid role.

Responsibilities

• · Provide administrative support to lawyers in the preparation, review and filing of legal documents such as briefs, appeals, complaints, answers, etc.
• · Conduct thorough case research pertaining to ongoing lawsuits.
• · Communicate with clients on various aspects of case proceedings.
• · Locate, develop, and manage all case relevant information.
• · Draft and proofread legal documents including pleadings, discovery, motions, and briefs.
• · Coordinate with legal experts and serve as a liaison for all parties involved.
• · Schedule and prepare materials for court appearances.
• · Assist attorneys in case preparation by creating and maintaining organizational systems for each case.
• · Assist attorneys with trial preparation, develop trial exhibits, and review/organize documents for trial discovery.
• · Maintain attorney schedules and calendars.

Requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree, Paralegal Certificate or equivalent experience.
• Prior work experience as a legal assistant, legal secretary, or related role in litigation.
• Familiarity with law, legal procedures, and protocols.
• Experience in formatting briefs and generating TOCs and TOAs in Word.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, Washington state court e-filing systems, PACER and CM/ECF filing systems.
• Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work independently but also as part of a team.
