Summary
The Test Engineer is a key support role in the Engineering Team. This role entails performing engineering tests and experiments, management of testing equipment, and compiling inspection reports. This position is critical in ensuring the Engineering team gets accurate and timely data that is needed to make well-informed product decisions. Position reports to the Sr. Director of Eng.
Job Responsibilities:
Cell testing execution: Run standard and non-standard charge/discharge cycling, rate capability, capacity checks, formation, DCIR/HPPC, temperature performance, and EIS as part of the qualification process utilizing Arbin and Neware testers/cyclers and environmental chambers. Build and validate test schedules, wire fixtures, mount thermocouples, and utilize pressure and swell setups.
Safety, abuse, and environmental testing: Perform safety tests including overcharge, hot box, external short, nail penetration, thermal cycling, vibration, and altitude testing complying with UN38.3, IEC 62133, and UL 1642 certification standards.
