Position Overview

The Electrical Test Engineer will support lab testing of electric drive components and systems, including performance and durability testing and failure/root cause investigation. This is an opportunity to work in the rapidly growing electrification field, partnering with cross-functional teams across design, controls, simulation, and facility design while developing a strong foundation in motor and generator fundamentals.

Key Responsibilities

• · Perform lab testing of electric drive components and systems, including performance and durability testing.
• · Lead and support failure and root cause investigations on motor and generator components.
• · Conduct detailed, hands-on inspections involving electrical checks, visual inspections, x-ray review, and material and fluid analysis.
• · Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams spanning design, controls, simulation, and facility design.
• · Document findings and communicate results clearly to team members and stakeholders.
• Team Interaction
• This role works closely with engineers who will provide mentorship and oversight of inspection activities as the individual learns and grows in the role.
• Work Environment

This is a lab-based testing environment. The role typically involves approximately 30% desk work and 70% hands-on lab work conducting inspections and electrical checks. Appropriate PPE, including safety shoes, is required.
