From Liquid Personnel's posting. “We” and “our” refer to the employer.
Liquid Personnel is seeking an experienced and dynamic Adult Social Worker to join their integrated Adult Mental Health Team in Portsmouth. This is a varied and fast-paced role supporting individuals with complex mental health needs while responding to safeguarding concerns and delivering high-quality, person-centred interventions.
The successful candidate will be a confident practitioner, comfortable working within a multi-agency environment, offering expert advice, guidance, and support across a wide professional network. This role requires strong safeguarding expertise, professional curiosity, and the ability to manage sensitive and emotive situations while maintaining robust decision-making and risk management.
What will your responsibilities be?
Managing a diverse caseload within an adult mental health setting, working both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Leading and contributing to adult safeguarding processes, including triaging concerns, determining appropriate actions, and ensuring legal timescales are met.
Undertaking and coordinating Section 42 enquiries, alongside non-statutory safeguarding enquiries and risk management processes.
Conducting risk assessments and care planning, ensuring interventions are proportionate, strengths-based, and focused on improving outcomes.
Providing specialist safeguarding advice and guidance to a wide range of professionals across health, social care, and partner organisations.
Working collaboratively with statutory and non-statutory agencies, including police, community mental health teams, hospitals, substance misuse services, housing and homelessness services, care providers, CQC, and third-sector organisations.
Participating in and contributing to multi-agency risk management meetings, case conferences, and safeguarding forums.
Ensuring all decision-making, actions, and outcomes are clearly recorded, communicated effectively, and shared appropriately, including feedback to referrers where no further action is required.
Applying Making Safeguarding Personal principles, ensuring service users remain at the centre of all interventions.
Demonstrating professional curiosity, creativity, and flexibility, particularly when managing complex and high-risk situations.
We are unable to support or accept applications from candidates who are residents within the Red or Amber list of the Code of practice for the international recruitment of health and social care personnel in England, based on the World Health Organisation (WHO) Workforce Support and Safeguard List.
