Social Worker - Locality Team

Our client based in Devon is looking for an experienced and high skilled Adult Social Worker to support out locality teams in West Devon. This role requires a confident practitioner with strong legal literacy, proven leadership capability, and the ability to support both operational and supervisory functions within a busy adult social care environment.

What will your responsibilities be?

Statutory assessments such as Care Act assessments, MCA assessments, Best Interest decisions, and Community DoLS work.

Care and support planning that is strengths‑based, personalised, and focused on delaying or preventing escalating needs.

Safeguarding adults, including identifying and investigating concerns and coordinating protective actions with partner agencies.

Managing a varied caseload, supporting adults with physical disabilities, learning disabilities, mental health needs, and older adults with complex conditions.

Multi‑disciplinary working with health services, community organisations, and care providers to deliver integrated, holistic support.

Qualifications and Experience:

• To be successful in this role you must have; Professional Qualification: MA, BA, BSc in Social Work, Diploma in Social Work, or CQSW.
• Registration: Must be registered with Social Work England.
• Experience: At least 5 years post-qualified experience and ASYE
• Legislation Knowledge: Strong understanding of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, Best Interest Decisions, CDoLS, and safeguarding procedures.
• Skills: Excellent assessment, analysis, and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary setting.
• Driving Licence: Full UK driving licence and access to a car is often required for community visits.
