Social Worker – Safeguarding

Our client based in Birmingham. Is seeking experienced and committed Adult Safeguarding Social Workers to join their citywide safeguarding teams. These roles sit within a fast‑paced statutory safeguarding service and require skilled practitioners who are confident working with complex risk, multi‑agency partners, and safeguarding legislation.

What will your responsibilities be?

Undertake and lead Section 42 safeguarding enquiries, including screening, risk assessment, and investigation of safeguarding concerns.

Coordinate safeguarding responses in line with the Care Act 2014 and Making Safeguarding Personal principles.

Chair and contribute to strategy meetings, professionals’ meetings, and safeguarding planning meetings.

Develop, implement, and review risk management and protection plans to manage complex risk.

Work closely with multi‑agency partners including police, health, housing, and care providers.

Apply the Mental Capacity Act 2005, including capacity assessments, Best Interest decision‑making, and accurate case recording.

Qualifications & Experience:

• To be successful in this role you must have, Professional Qualification: MA, BA, BSc in Social Work, Diploma in Social Work, or CQSW.
• Registration: Must be registered with Social Work England.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 Years Post-qualified experience evidenced in a permanent qualified Social Worker role (ASYE completed). (MoC Cooling-Off Period)
• Legislation Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, safeguarding procedures, and Section 42 enquiries.
• Skills: Excellent risk assessment, analysis, report writing, and communication skills. Confidence working in high‑risk, multi‑agency safeguarding environments.
• IT Skills: Experience using electronic case management systems and maintaining accurate, timely records.
