Staff Research Scientist, Performance Science & Health Outcomes at Whoop | LAYIQ

PhD in Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, Biomedical Engineering, Physiology, Sleep Science, Epidemiology, Public Health, Neuroscience, Data Science, or another relevant scientific discipline.
8+ years of post-PhD research experience in academic, industry, or applied settings, with demonstrated expertise in health, human performance, physiology, sleep, health outcomes, wearable technology, or a related area
Demonstrated ability to independently define scientific questions and lead complex research programs from hypothesis generation and study design through analysis, publication, and real-world application.
Strong quantitative and analytical capabilities, with experience analyzing large or complex physiological, biometric, behavioral, wearable, or health-related datasets using rigorous statistical or computational methods.
Track record of scientific impact demonstrated through peer-reviewed publications, conference presentations, applied research, or other meaningful contributions to the field.
Ability to translate complex scientific evidence into clear recommendations and influence decisions across multidisciplinary technical and non-technical teams.
Experience collaborating across disciplines such as product development, engineering, data science, healthcare, sports performance, or consumer technology, with the ability to provide scientific leadership in an innovative, fast-paced environment.
Strong commitment to embracing and leveraging AI tools in day-to-day tasks, ensuring AI-assisted work aligns with the same high-quality standards as personal contributions.
This role is based in the WHOOP office located in Boston, MA. The successful candidate must be prepared to relocate if necessary to work out of the Boston, MA office.
