What You’ll Do

• We're looking for an exceptional communicator with strong product instincts who can translate complex ideas into clear, compelling messaging. Rather than a traditional Technical Product & Content Marketing Lead, this role is ideal for someone who excels at crafting narratives that resonate with customers and the market. You'll help define how we communicate our products and value proposition, bringing clarity in a fast-moving environment where the product evolves quickly and the competitive landscape is constantly changing.
• Translate Protege’s Product efforts across verticals into clear public-facing positioning, content, and collateral.
• Turn complex real-world data issues and our DataLab’s technical research into buyer language that explains why messy data becomes usable, discoverable, and high-quality through Protege, and how our focus differs from other data approaches.
• Own end-to-end launch campaigns for new Product, DataLab, and Commercial releases from initial strategy through external execution, with the right narrative, proof points, and field-ready materials.
• Write compelling technical thought leadership content to advance the real-world data narrative for AI development.
• Build product marketing strategy to match our vision as the real-world data platform for AI builders for all stages of the AI model development lifecycle.
• Build the core go-to-market assets that help the commercial team sell with confidence, including decks, webinars, videos, social media content, one-pagers, case studies, talk tracks, landing pages, and launch materials.
• Partner closely with our Head of Community to create assets that anchor and drive community engagement and events.
• Partner closely with Product, DataLab, vertical GMs, and Sales to make sure our market story matches what we deliver to model builders.

What Success Looks Like

• 30 days: Learn Protege’s business model, language, and products. Identify key opportunity gaps.
• Build technical fluency in Protege’s products, commercial solutions, and DataLab research - and how that all fits together into a singular vision.
• Determine gaps in our product narrative and how we can fill them with our messaging, content, and collateral.
• 60 days: Own highest priority product/content workstreams.
• Own multiple end-to-end strategic initiatives, such as a new vertical or product launch, and technical research releases.
• 90 days: Take over all product/content workstreams, form product marketing strategy, & orient all initiatives towards broader company strategy.
• Own all end-to-end strategic initiatives involving product and content releases.
• Create the product marketing vision that completes the loop between Product, Commercial, DataLab, and Delivery while promoting our differentiation in the market.
• Begin to own company-wide positioning and narrative building via thought leadership, owned content, and other channels.

What You Bring

• Must-Haves: You are first and foremost, a great writer; our belief is that strong writing is a sign of strong thinking.
• You can translate complex technical concepts, including AI data, ML pipelines, model performance, and messy real-world data workflows, into clear positioning and messaging for technical buyers and audiences.
• You have narrative experience in all forms of content campaigns: written, visual media, podcast, IRL experiences, etc.
• You have managed end-to-end product, vertical, or content-led launches with cross-functional teams, from early narrative development through external execution.
• You have partnered closely with sales teams on strategic deals, understood customer needs in depth, and shaped custom narratives that helped move commercial conversations forward.
• You thrive in ambiguous startup environments, ship strong V1s quickly, iterate based on feedback, and build from scratch when the playbook does not yet exist.
• You are hands-on with your work; this includes using the right growth channels to distribute your work, rather than expecting distribution to happen on its own.
• You have created compelling written content for technical or B2B audiences, including launch content, technical explainers, case studies, thought leadership, or similar assets.
• You can balance strategic thinking with tactical execution — thinking big picture while also building the decks, messaging, and case studies that make the strategy real.
• Nice-to-haves: Experience in AI/ML products and data platforms
• Understanding of foundation models, AI training, or ML workflows
• Former technical background (engineer, solutions engineer, data scientist)
