Private Duty Pediatric Nurse – RN/LVN
MedCare Pediatric Group is seeking an experienced
Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to provide one-on-one pediatric private duty nursing care in a home health setting.
This is an excellent opportunity for a compassionate
Pediatric RN, Pediatric LVN, Home Health Nurse, Private Duty Nurse, or Private Duty RN/LVN seeking a consistent night shift schedule and meaningful one-on-one patient care.
The selected nurse will provide skilled nursing care to a pediatric patient with complex medical needs in the West Houston / Energy Corridor area.

Night Shift: 6:30 PM–4:30 AM

Home health / private duty nursing setting
Private Duty Nursing Responsibilities
Provide skilled one-on-one nursing care in the patient’s home.
Monitor and assess seizure activity and neurological status.
Implement seizure precautions and patient safety measures.
Administer prescribed medications, including rescue medications, as ordered.
Monitor medication effectiveness, side effects, and adverse reactions.
Observe, assess, and document changes in the patient’s condition.
Assist with bowel management and scheduled or PRN interventions.
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
Provide caregiver education and support.
Communicate effectively with physicians, caregivers, and the interdisciplinary care team.
Respond appropriately to changes in the patient's condition and seizure activity.
RN/LVN Qualifications
Current
Texas RN or LVN license in good standing.
Current
CPR certification.
Valid driver's license.
Current auto liability insurance.
Minimum of 6 months of pediatric nursing experience in a home health setting is required.
Experience with pediatric private duty nursing preferred.
Experience caring for patients with seizure disorders or neurological conditions preferred.
Knowledge or experience with VNS therapy is a plus.
Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills.
Strong communication and documentation skills.
Reliable transportation.
Ability to work independently in a home health setting.
