Thomas & Hutton has an immediate opening for a motivated and driven
Structural Engineer (PE) in Charleston, SC or Savannah, GA.
The candidate will be involved in the design, drafting and construction services for a large variety of structures for both internal and external clients, public and private. Markets for structural services include industrial, commercial, municipal, marine, institutional, residential and energy. Structures may include, but are not limited to, treatment plants, marinas, bulkheads, piers, wharves, bridges, buildings, drainage and water control structures, pump stations, monuments, specialty equipment foundations, and more.
Designs will predominantly include concrete, wood, structural steel, and masonry, although other materials such as cold formed metal framing, aluminum and fiber reinforced polymer may also be included.
What You'll Do: Typical duties include:
- Perform structural analysis and design of a variety of structures.
- Create construction documents, including drawings and specifications.
- Perform structural condition assessments of existing structures and write reports.
