The Sedation & Recovery Nurse is part of the team that provides nursing care before, during, and after abortion, sterilization, and other minor gynecologic procedures. These procedures are conducted at the health center of assignment and performed in accordance with Planned Parenthood of Illinois’ policies, protocols, and procedures in the PPIL Medical Standards and Guidelines.
The Sedation & Recovery Nurse works as a Recovery Room Nurse and a Supervised Sedation Professional and reports to the Procedural Abortion and Sedation Services Clinical Director
Essential Functions:
Participate in the counting and logging of all controlled substances consistent with PPIL’s Drug Control Policy.
Take personal responsibility to remain informed, current, and willing to follow the medical policies of the Board of Directors as stated in the PPIL Medical Standards and Guidelines concerning PAb provision and sedation.
