The Piping Engineer Intern or Co-op will work alongside other Piping Engineers in our Piping Departments to prepare drawings, calculations, and other deliverables for our clients’ design projects. The position will also interface with team members in our other engineering disciplines to provide cohesive engineering packages to our clients.
- Responsibilities: Complete calculations of limited complexity, with supervision as needed; may include stress analysis and equipment sizing
- Create and modify equipment drawings, isometrics, and P&IDs using AutoCAD
- Assemble equipment RFQ packages
- Model equipment and pipe design in 3-D using AutoCAD, Plant 3D and Inventor
- Develop and design pipe supports
- Assist experienced Piping Engineers with their activities as requested
- Qualifications: Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science Degree (or equivalent education) in Mechanical Engineering from a four-year accredited college or university
- Effective communication skills in order to convey ideas is a must
- Ability to work within diverse teams assembled from Nexus, clients, and others
