PER VISIT PHYSICAL THERAPY ASSISTANT - COVENANT AT HOME

Overview

The role of the Physical Therapy Assistant is to provide therapy treatments as established by the Physical Therapist’s plan of care and to teach the patient and/or family how to carry out home programs prescribed.

The Physical Therapy Assistant demonstrates excellent customer service performance in that his/her attitude and actions are at all times consistent with the standards contained in the Vision, Mission and Values of Covenant and the commitment to Extraordinary Care for Every Generation.

Responsibilities

• Physical therapy activities planned, delegated and supervised by the physical therapist. Discusses established discharge goals during treatment and provides information on goals met/unmet to physical therapist.
• Participates in educating patient and family/caregiver per prescribed physician’s plan of care. Instructs patients in care and use of equipment as directed by physician and physical therapist.
• Displays high regard for personal dignity, diversity and uniqueness of individuals (Cultural/Religious Sensitivity; Confidentiality; Privacy; Age Specific Competencies).
