Responsibilities DEFINITION OF POSITION: A Hospitalist is responsible for assuming primary responsibility for inpatients admitted to the Good Shepherd Medical Center by the Emergency Department as well as those inpatients assigned to the Hospitalist after being admitted by other physicians. The Hospitalist retains this responsibility until discharge.
