Position Summary Ortho Spine Registered Nurse (RN) Elective Orthopedics & Spine Unit – 26 Beds | Level I Trauma Center The Elective Orthopedics and Spine unit is a 26‑bed, fast‑paced environment dedicated to helping patients regain mobility, independence, and quality of life. The team supports individuals undergoing elective total knee and hip arthroplasty, as well as spine surgery, with a mission centered on wellness, functional recovery, and evidence‑based care.

This commitment to excellence is reflected in our Center of Excellence certification. As part of a Level I Trauma Center, the unit also provides care for a wide range of orthopedic trauma patients, including multi‑trauma injuries from motor vehicle collisions, hip fractures, gunshot wounds, and complex hand injuries. This combination of elective and trauma care creates a diverse and rewarding clinical experience for nurses seeking to grow their skills.

The Ortho Spine RN administers patient care in a hospital inpatient or observation setting, providing active treatment for acute injuries, illnesses, medical conditions, and post‑intervention recovery while performing ongoing assessment. This includes comprehensive patient evaluation, monitoring post‑operative progress, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team, and supporting patients through mobility progression, pain management, and discharge readiness.
