Job Summary

Responsible for hospital operational throughput within the hospital. Facilitates the movement of inpatient and outpatients to appropriate rooms when admitted and preventing flow back up in critical areas such as the ICU, OR, PACU and ECC in collaboration with Patient Placement. Responsible for building collaborative relationships between charge nurses, nurse managers and administration. Develops and implements plans to identify and mitigate impediments to efficient patient flow throughout the hospital system.

Facilitates the provision of a safe, functional and supportive environment for patients, staff and the surrounding community during a disaster situation. Leads the clinical initiative for the Emergency Medical System by constantly encouraging staff to participate in learning opportunities related to disaster preparedness.

Required Qualifications

• Require graduate of an accredited school of nursing or a diploma program. For new hires after 2012, Bachelor of Science Degree in nursing (BSN) is required within specified timeframe as outlined in the New Hire BSN Agreement policy (126.045).
