Job Summary
Performs all duties without direct supervision. This position is responsible for adhering to established service standards and for reinforcing service standards with all employees. Independently, performs skilled technical work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of complex diagnostic and therapeutic medical devices. Incumbent may be expected to be present during the clinical use of equipment in area of expertise. Provides assistance to technicians and operators of medical devices.
Participates in disaster, fire, and other emergencies; observes all hospital safety practices and regulations. Reports to emergency call-ins when necessary, by responding on-site.
Required Qualifications
- Require an associate degree in electronics (preferably biomedical) or equivalent military electronics training (preferably biomedical).
- Require a minimum of two (2) years of progressively complex experience (troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, design, and modification) as a hospital-based biomedical engineer technician; Four (4) years of servicing complex electronic equipment will be considered.
