The Propagation Assistant is responsible for the daily care and monitoring of rooted cuttings and seed plugs during the critical propagation stage, including plants held under booms and in germination chambers. This role manages pesticide measurement, distribution, and application across propagation areas, and oversees all fertilizer stations on the property to ensure plants receive accurate and consistent nutrition. Because propagating crops require close, uninterrupted monitoring, this position works a 6-day work week.
- Manage rooted cutting and seed plug production for plants held under booms or in germination chambers, monitoring temperature, humidity, and moisture levels to maintain optimal rooting and germination conditions.
- Adjust boom irrigation cycles and germination chamber settings as crop stage and environmental conditions change.
- Measure and mix pesticides accurately according to label instructions, safety data sheets (SDS), and company protocols.
