Job Responsibilities:

Inspects, tests, sorts, samples or weighs processed, machined, fabricated or assembled parts or products for defects, wear and deviations from specifications. Provides statistical analyses and segregation of suspect goods and initiates reject reports.  Uses precision measuring instruments and complex test equipment. Ensures specified quality assurance standards are met.

1.    Know and understand Bowling Green Metalforming Quality and Environmental policies.

2.    Follow the Weld Destruct priority board to maintain the correct cut order.

3.    Study roadmaps for proper weld ID labeling and placement

4.    Use roadmaps, lab paperwork, plasma cutters, and electric/pneumatic sanders to prepare weld samples for the Weld Lab.

5.    Support weld lab by creating cut sheets using information from prior cuts.

6.    Prepare work area for following shift by implementing 5S and communicating any relevant information.

7.    Perform additional weld testing, length inspections, link destruct, rivet cuts, and Weld Lab procedures as needed.

8.    Communicate with the Weld Lab on cut inventory, cut order (priority), cut frequencies, and required ID’s to cut.

9.    Support co-workers through teamwork, training, overtime, etc.

10.    Participate in the Weld Destruct 5S rotation schedule.

11.    Continuous improvement by meeting productivity goals, learning and sharing knowledge, and improving skill and ability.

12.    Maintain reliable and predictable attendance.

13.    Perform other duties as required.

What we are looking for:

• High School diploma or GED
• Post-secondary education preferred, or related experience

Preferred qualifications:

• Perform plasma cutting, grinding, and polishing
• Multitask, handle stress, implement advice, avoid distractions, adapt to changes, and work well with others
• Follow work instructions and routines to comply with TS16949 requirements
• Manage workload, schedule, break times, productivity, and teamwork
• Able to be flexible in hours of work on short notice in order to meet internal/external customer requirements, scheduled and nonscheduled overtime shifts, etc.  Work extended hours and altered schedules to provide coverage for production requirements and scheduled time off
• Possible Shift Work
• Computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel preferred
• Minimum of 1-year experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
• Operate standard office equipment preferred
