Summary
The experienced finisher is expected to perform all parts of the process: grading, set up, custom formwork, concrete placement, cleaning tools, stripping formwork, and cutting slabs. An experienced finisher has noteworthy flatwork experience and demonstrates the ability to finish virtually any commercial concrete pour. Understanding the many variables affecting the finishing process is critical to success.
An experienced finisher can effectively use all hand tools, including various finish trowels, floats, and brooms or rakes, to achieve a specified finish. Understanding and proficiently using specialized machines to expedite the finishing process is critical to this role. Communicating effectively with supervisors, teammates, and other trades is expected, as well as providing training and development to teammates who demonstrate motivation and interest in advancing their skills.
