Behavioral Health RN — Fri/Sat/Sun Nights | 13-Week Contract | $41/hr | Winston-Salem, NC

VitalHire is hiring a Behavioral Health RN for a weekend-only night contract in Winston-Salem, NC. Locked inpatient BH unit, adults and geriatrics, clear schedule, clear pay.

The role

• Inpatient behavioral health on a locked unit (rotate across acuity areas / floors)
• Crisis intervention, de-escalation, behavior management, psych meds, seclusion/commitment workflows
• Work alongside psych techs (milieu + monitoring), therapy 7 days/week, and 24/7 nursing leadership support
• Charting in Epic (required); Pyxis; proximity-based patient monitoring; personal panic alarms on site

Schedule & pay

• Friday, Saturday, Sunday nights only — 18:45–07:15 (3×12)
• $41/hour contract rate
• 13 weeks | Start 10/12/2026 | Block schedule available
• 36–48 hours/week can be offered
• No call | Float may be required to med-surg for tasking when needed
• Orientation: ~32 hours (hospital orientation week one — must be available for classes each day)
• Scrubs: navy blue | Flu required (medical/religious exemptions only)

Requirements

• Must-haves
• Active RN license — NC or eNLC/compact
• 2+ years RN experience (BH/psych strongly preferred; 1st-time travelers accepted)
• BLS (current)
• MOAB (required)
• Epic experience
• Comfort with crisis intervention, de-escalation, assaultive behavior management, and psychiatric medications
• Live within ~150 miles of Winston-Salem, NC (or able to work this local-style weekend schedule)
• Weekend night availability Fri–Sun
