• Operating Room Unit Secretary
• Second shift (1430-2000); Monday -Friday
• Surgical Services I Lexington, KY

Baptist Health Lexington Surgical Services Department encompasses several key areas: the Pre-Op Department, 20 operating rooms with a business office staff responsible for scheduling, a Postoperative Care Unit, an Endoscopy Department with dedicated pre- and post-op areas, and a Sterile Processing Department.

Description:

Answers telephone in a timely manner using proper etiquette.

Greets and assists visitors, patients, staff, physicians, and others at unit desk.

Answers inquiries and/or refers to appropriate resources.

Communicates effectively with other departments.

Relays messages promptly.

Works cooperatively with other services.

Maintains patient and organizational confidentiality at all times.

Ensures positive customer relations interactions.

Safety transfer and transports patients within the hospital.

Performs errands and other clerical/clinical duties as directed.

Safely transports specimens to laboratory.

Obtains items needed from tube system, pharmacy, etc. when necessary.

Records name of patient and attending physician on PACU log.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Computer skills.
• Possess basic knowledge of medical terminology.
