Job Summary
The Nursing Informatics Specialist, specializing in patient care processes and clinician workflow, functions as a leader, consultant, educator, and evaluator. This individual will lead initiatives to promote effective process design, development, and implementation of the electronic medical record (EMR) and other technology enhancements. This includes the primary responsibilities of determining the needs and requirements for clinical applications within the acute and ambulatory healthcare settings.
This individual collaborates with end users, through facility-wide and system-wide committees and councils, to help define healthcare information problems and solutions. The Nursing Informatics Specialist promotes the use of evidence-based clinical practice and workflow standardization across the Sarasota Memorial Health Care System. This role may lead projects and programs independently.
