Electrical Project Designer | Rock Island, IL at IMEG | LAYIQ

Lead design for electrical systems and mentor junior staff
Research, coordinate, verify, schedule and document various design aspects
Build, maintain, and develop client relationships
Quickly solve problems and seek the advice of the Project Manager
Perform services as required by the contract services agreement
Perform electrical calculations, system design, equipment selection, reporting, BIM coordination, and progress submittals
Required Qualifications: Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent required
Engineering In Training (EIT) Certification preferred
3 years of experience minimum required, 4 preferred, in the building design consulting industry or Associate’s degree, or certificate, in Building Information Modeling (BIM) or Engineering preferred with 7 years of experience minimum required, 8 preferred, in the building design consulting
Proficiency in design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications
Strong technical and analytical skills including knowledge of principles relating to circuit theory, electromagnetism, power systems, and electronics as they relate to electrical systems design for buildings
Proficient with industry standard engineering software and tools including lighting photometric calculation software such as AGI, Elum Tools, Visual Lighting, or other; power system analysis and design software such as SKM/PTW, Easy Power, or other; and proficiency in the use of BIM software and CTC Revit Add In Tools
Knowledge of Illumination Engineering Society (IES) Standards
Proficient with energy compliance software such as ComCheck; Adobe or Bluebeam Revu; the use of reference material resources such as NFPA Link, TechStreet, MadCAD, and Facility Guideline Institution (FGI)
Proficiency in Smart Engineering Design Assist (SET) Tools within Revit for electrical calculations, coordination, properties, etc. Knowledge of Master Specification editing and software such as eSPECS
Ability to train and mentor less experienced staff
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
Ability to travel up to 10% with occasional overnight stays

Electrical Team Highlights: Design electrical systems for complex industrial facilities, including medium-voltage and low-voltage power distribution, unit substations, fire alarm, security, and infrastructure upgrades.
Work with clients across manufacturing, agribusiness, food and beverage, chemical processing, pharmaceuticals, and warehouse/distribution environments.
Support impactful projects such as facility expansions, capital improvements, process/manufacturing upgrades, and central plant improvements.
Build experience in both design and consulting-focused work, including arc-flash studies, system assessments, and other technical deliverables.
Collaborate on projects delivered through Design-Bid-Build and Design-Build methods while gaining a strong understanding of how industrial facilities operate and evolve.
