Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 -
Monday - Friday (7:30am - 4pm)
This position is responsible for the successful completion of the surgical scheduling process for patients requiring elective surgery at Sturdy memorial Hospital. Required Skills/Qualifications/Training/Experience:
Three to five years previous experience in medical office.
Command of verbal and written English; positive interpersonal communication skills and good organizational skills.
Understanding of referral and prior authorization process.
- Demonstrates strong organizational skills
- Able to work collaboratively with surgeons, the hospital surgical schedulers, and the PCP’s office staff
- Ability to effectively communicate with patients
Preferred Skills/Qualifications/Training/Experience:
Knowledge of medical terminology
Computer skills
Knowledge of physician appointments and schedule management.
Ability to work independently
Educational Requirements:
High school graduate or equivalent; Two year Associates degree or equivalent preferred
License/Certification: N/A Age Specific Criteria: Ability to effectively communicate to all age levels served within the scope of the position/assigned areas.
