Minimum Qualifications:
- Must have a minimum of a high school diploma, industrial maintenance experience and/or trade school.
- Mandatory EPA certification required: Type I & II.
- In order for an applicant to be awarded a job bid as a refrigeration specialist, candidate must have performed work as an ‘A’ refrigeration mechanic or have comparable experience and/or demonstrated abilities.
- One must successfully pass an exam that encompasses all technical aspects of the refrigeration specialist position as defined by the multi-skill commission.
- Must have a thorough knowledge of refrigeration and HVAC maintenance principles and practices and have the interpersonal and technical skills necessary to repair mechanical, electrical and instrumentation problems in a positive and professional manner.
- Must be able to react to refrigeration breakdowns and equipment problems in a proficient and positive manner.
- Must assist in improving overall efficiencies through effective mechanical, electrical and instrumentation troubleshooting and repair.
- Skills and Abilities: The ability to communicate technical and non-technical information clearly
- Proficient in basic math, chart and technical drawing reading
- Excellent problem-solving, prioritizing and follow-up skills required.
- Basic computer skills including Rockwell RS View software
- Ability to safely operate motorized vehicles and some industrial equipment (e.g. fork truck, lifts, etc.)
- Knowledge of safety programs and procedures
- Industrial Mechanical as well as Electrical – Electronic Troubleshooting is a plus
- Available and willing to be contacted by phone in the event of an emergency and be able to work flexible schedules including weekends, late shifts and overtime
- Physical/Mental Requirements: Complies with all government regulations pertaining to Occupational Health and Safety, etc.
- Attends start of shift QCD meetings and discuss suggestion and safety issues when appropriate.
- Complies with all company rules, policies, procedures, and programs.
- Assists in supporting the company's preventative maintenance program.
- Maintains company standards for housekeeping in everyday work routine.
- Must have completed or must complete Battery Changing, Stacker and Stand Up Truck Training.
- Plant GMP/PPE Compliance. Must be able to communicate with Warehouse Service Operators to order Raw Materials to complete frame-ups.
- Must be able to communicate needed information to peers, support personnel and Supervisors to assure successful operation.
- Accountable for the QRMP (Quality Risk Management Process) standards as outlined in the plant’s QRMP accountability document, including the implementation, improvement
- Occasional exposure to seasonal conditions such as rain, snow, wind, humidity and sun.
- Standing, occasional walking, some lifting, and ascending and descending stairs. Exposure to seasonal temperatures. Working around moving equipment, operating stand up truck, working from ladders.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to wear company authorized safety shoes; regularly required to use company authorized hearing protection. The employee is frequently required to wear company-authorized safety glasses; frequently required to wear gloves. The employee is occasionally required to use a respirator. Hairnets and beard nets are required.
