HVAC Sheet Metal Mechanic – Journeyman at Comfort Systems USA | LAYIQ

Fabricate, assemble, install, and repair HVAC sheet metal ductwork and related components , including ducts, drain pans, control boxes, and equipment casings
Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, contract documents, and shop drawings
Install duct systems in accordance with SMACNA standards , company guidelines, and mechanical codes
Assist foremen with layout, material staging, and jobsite coordination
Perform accurate field measurements and layout prior to installation
Seal, insulate, and support duct systems to ensure proper airflow and energy efficiency
Coordinate with pipefitters, electricians, and other trades to support project schedules
Inspect work for quality and compliance with drawings and specifications
Maintain tools and equipment in a safe and operational condition
Follow all company safety policies and OSHA requirements
Participate in jobsite safety meetings and maintain a clean work environment
Education, Training, Licenses, and Certifications: Journeyman‑level experience in HVAC sheet metal installation on commercial construction projects
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and follow detailed installation instructions
Completion of a sheet metal apprenticeship program preferred
Journeyman HVAC or Sheet Metal certification preferred but not required
Familiarity with ATU, RTU, split systems, and commercial duct applications
OSHA 10‑Hour preferred (OSHA 30‑Hour a plus)
Must have reliable transportation and ability to work full‑time with overtime as required
Other Requirements: Punctual, dependable, and professional demeanor
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Ability to work independently and take direction from foremen and supervisors
Physically capable of lifting, climbing, working at heights, and performing jobsite tasks in commercial environments
