The position will run from January 4, 2027, to June 25, 2027. End dates are flexible within the time frame but with a maximum 6-month allotment. Preference will be given to applicants for a full 6-month commitment.
What We Can Achieve Together:
- The Fire Management Technician participates in wildland fire operations, including burn unit preparation, ignition, control, mop-up, suppression, monitoring, equipment maintenance, and other tasks as assigned. Positions will be focused on the ecological management and restoration of longleaf pine sandhill ecosystems associated with the Chattahoochee Fall Line (CFL) for rare fire adapted species such as red-cockaded woodpecker, gopher tortoise, and carnivorous plants. Other tasks may include fence removal, timber marking, and general stewardship work.
