The News Anchor serves as the primary presenter of news stories and other content for all platforms in a manner that is clear, engaging, and meaningful to news consumers. This role is a hybrid position that demands a high-level storyteller; in addition to anchoring newscasts, the successful candidate is required to report on major local stories as part of their day-to-day duties.
Multimedia Reporting: Beyond studio duties, you will act as a lead field reporter, responsible for identifying and covering "big stories" that impact the community.
End-to-End Production: Must be proficient in the full production cycle— shooting, writing, and editing —to deliver polished, high-impact segments.
Content Volume: Expected to report 3 days a week, in addition to weekend anchoring responsibilities.
Producing abilities: Must be able to write and produce a newscast when possible.
Clear Presentation: Presents news stories and other content for all platforms in a clear and concise manner.
Journalistic Integrity: Ensures all content meets Nexstar Media Group standards for integrity and production quality.
