Advanced Practice Provider at University of Chicago | LAYIQ

Education : An advanced degree from an accredited school/college of nursing or completion of an accredited Physician Assistant educational program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant, Inc.
Master's of Science in Nursing.
Experience: Background working in a Pediatric Level 1 Trauma ER.
Licenses and Certifications for Advanced Practice Provider: Current and/or eligibility for State of Illinois RN and APN licensure/registration.
Must be certified as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurse's Credentialing Center or American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
Once licensed, apply for a mid-level practitioner controlled substance license and DEA number.
Emergency Department experience as a Nurse Practitioner.
Licenses and Certifications for Physician Assistant: Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant educational program.
Certification in ACLS and by the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and current and/or eligibility for State of Illinois licensure/registration.
Emergency Department experience.
Preferred Competencies
Demonstrated clinical competency.
Conduct physical examinations and health assessments.
Work effectively under pressure.
Use independent judgment.
Strong communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to facilitate communication among various levels of practitioners.
Ability to interview and obtain medical information.
Working Conditions
Serve as an independent provider in our Pediatric Level I Trauma accredited Emergency Room at The University of Chicago Comer Children's Hospital.
Clinical care setting.
Duties performed require potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens.
Occupational risk for exposure to infectious material and communicable diseases.
High-stress environment.
Use of personal protective equipment.
