Advanced Practice Provider at University of Chicago | LAYIQ

Education: Advanced nursing degree from an accredited school/college of nursing or completion of an accredited Physician Assistant educational program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant, Inc.
Completion of approved NNP training.
Experience: 2 years of clinical experience in level III or level IV NICU as a NICU nurse or NICU APP.
Certifications : NCC certification as a neonatal nurse practitioner.
Ability to obtain Illinois advanced practice nurse license by start date.
Current registered nurse license in the State of Illinois or eligibility to receive by start date.
Once licensed, apply for a mid-level practitioner-controlled substance license and DEA number.
Certifications for Physician Assistant: Current Physician Assistant license/registration in the State of Illinois or eligibility to receive by start date.
Certification from the National Commission for the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) by start date.
Once licensed, apply for a mid-level practitioner-controlled substance license and DEA number.
Preferred Competencies
Proficiency in resuscitation, intubation, and line placement.
Excellent clinical, management, and organizational skills.
Ability to conduct physical examinations and health assessments.
Ability to provide direct patient care in a professional, respectful, and compassionate manner.
Proficiency in EPIC.
Proficiency in use of computers.
Demonstrated ability to facilitate communication among various levels of practitioners.
Ability to properly document and bill for services provided.
Detail-oriented.
Ability to work effectively under pressure.
Ability to use independent judgment.
Strong communication skills.
Ability to interview and obtain medical information.
Willingness to enter into written collaborative agreement with collaboration physician upon hire.
Working Conditions
Clinical care setting .
May require participation in on-call or after-hours coverage depending on clinical service needs.
Exposure to human blood, human blood components, and/or products made from human blood .
Exposure to infectious material .
High-stress environment .
May staff other sites as required by neonatology coverage agreements the section has in place.
