Speech Language Pathologist - Speech Therapy - FT - Day at Stormont-Vail HealthCare | LAYIQ

Use discretion and independent judgment, assuming the responsibility to provide a comprehensive evaluation of cognitive and/or communication skills, a comprehensive evaluation of swallowing function, and goal-oriented treatment to facilitate maximum communication and/or swallowing potential.
Review Physician’s referral and patient’s condition and medical records to determine required treatment.
Plan and prepare written treatment program based on evaluation of patient data. Evaluate effects of treatment at various stages and adjust treatments to achieve maximum benefit.
Consult with other members of healthcare team to help plan and coordinate medical interventions.
Record treatment response, and progress in patients chart or enter information into computer.
Instruct patient and family in home program. Provide fieldwork education, student supervision, education and mentoring to students. Provide patient, family and staff education in techniques and objectives.
Gather material and supplies for individual use and clean and return to appropriate areas at the end of the treatment sessions.
Research participation as appropriate.
Plan and conduct lectures and training programs on speech, language, and dysphagia and related topics for medical staff, students and community groups as assigned.
Complete department and hospital competencies/education requirements as assigned.
This position supervises Clinical Fellowship Year Candidates and those completing their graduate field work practicum.
