Job Purpose

Applies basic skills and appropriate welding processes to join, surface, fabrication of metal or other weldable materials to assemble structures.

Responsibilities

• Individual must be able to perform the essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Set up equipment and weld metal parts together, using GMAW, SMAW, GTAW & SAW processes.
• Use equipment such as a cutting torch or carbon air torch to unite different parts of steel structures.
• Must be required to pass employer performance tests or standard tests to meet certification standards of professional and technical associations.
• Practice good housekeeping skills and properly dispose of waste according to safety and environmental policies.
• Understand and follow safety policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
• Take reasonable care for the safety and health of yourself and others.
• Report workplace hazards, injuries, or illnesses immediately.

Qualifications

• Any combination of requirements that provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform essential duties and responsibilities will be considered.
• Minimum of five years of experience in welding fabrication of structural steel and verified structural weld test and/or demonstrated ability to perform basic skills according to testing requirements.
• Must have a current, valid driver’s license and an acceptable record at all times.
• Additional Qualifications
• Must have the ability to provide documentation verifying legal work status.
• Ability to read and speak the English language proficiently in order to communicate with others, understand and interpret safety instructions, and respond to inquiries.
• Ability to understand and comply with MRC guidelines and expectations, to include Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest guidelines.
