Job Summary:
The Driver Compliance Specialist will be responsible for the driver qualification process, monitoring compliance with applicable safety regulations.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Audits and reviews driver qualification files for compliance.
Makes decisions regarding driver eligibility based on FMCSA regulations and company protocols.
Conducts coaching sessions with management and drivers as necessary.
Maintains driver records in Workday and SharePoint.
Handles customer complaints related to drivers.
Maintains DOT records in accordance with regulations.
Interprets and applies FMCSA regulations and company policies to determine driver qualification status and identify compliance risks.
Conducts research, compiles data and creates reports as necessary.
Attends team meetings and company training sessions as required.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to function well in a high-paced and, at times, stressful environment.
Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
Working knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Act (FMCSA) and Occupational Safety Hazard Act (OSHA) regulations.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Proficiency with, or able to quickly learn, HRIS system.
Must have a current driver’s license and auto liability insurance.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Prior risk and safety experience, preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be available afterhours, including weekends to support stores via phone, email, and text.
Must be able to occasionally lift up to 10 pounds at times.
