The Asphalt Mill Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating asphalt milling equipment to remove existing pavement and prepare surfaces for new asphalt placement. This position works closely with milling, trucking, and paving crews to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and according to specifications.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Operate asphalt milling machines to remove existing pavement at specified depths and widths.
Monitor and maintain proper grade, slope, and milling patterns.
Perform daily inspections and routine maintenance on milling equipment.
Inspect and replace milling teeth as needed.
Coordinate with truck drivers, ground personnel, and supervisors during milling operations.
Maintain a safe work environment by following all company, OSHA, and project safety requirements.
Identify and report equipment issues requiring repair.
Assist with additional construction activities and labor duties as needed.
Maintain accurate production and equipment records.
