Job Description:
Axalta Coating Systems is seeking a Coatings Application Specialist to join our staff at our Brighton, MI location. The candidate will join the Refinish GBT Technology Organization supporting our Refinish coatings businesses. The Application Specialist will be responsible for executing experiments that simulate customer shop conditions for problem resolution and product optimization.
Primary Responsibilities
Maintain knowledge of Axalta Refinish products, application methods, and performance characteristics.
Perform manual spray applications to simulate customer conditions.
Prepare, spray, and evaluate refinish samples.
Design and conduct experiments to address customer issues and support product development.
Document test methods, results, customer investigations, and technical findings.
Record and report data using Excel, PowerPoint, and other approved systems.
Investigate technical and color-related customer complaints, determine root cause, and communicate findings.
