A Presidential proclamation issued on September 19, 2025, imposes a $100,000 fee on new H-1B petitions filed after September 21, 2025. Please be advised that Texas A&M University will NOT pay this fee. The Academic Advisor II, Complies with all state, system, and university policies, regulations, rules, procedures, guidelines, and directives in a timely manner and adhere to confidentiality policies (FERPA).
This Evergreen position will be used to hire multiple candidates for this role.
This position description outlines the major duties, responsibilities, and authorities of the Academic Advisor II position, emphasizing an intentional, developmental, and holistic approach to advising. It may not include all tasks and functions, as additional duties may be assigned to address specific needs and promote student success
Bachelor’s degree in applicable field.
Two years of related experience in advising and recruiting.
Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
Knowledge of student information systems, degree planning, and degree audits.
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Ability to present information clearly and concisely.
Ability to work with sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
Excellent written communication, analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Work beyond normal office hours and/or work on weekends.
Travel required.
