Senior OpenShift Architect (Contract)
Duration: 3-month initial engagement with strong potential for extension (6-12+ months)
Location: Remote (EST hours, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM); occasional travel may be required, with expenses covered.
Overview
Seeking a senior-level OpenShift Architect/Engineer to lead platform initiatives from planning through execution. This role requires deep hands-on expertise, strong architectural skills, and the ability to work independently while partnering closely with customer teams.
Responsibilities
- Assess and improve OpenShift platform readiness and operational maturity.
- Design and implement OpenShift networking solutions.
- Troubleshoot cluster health, capacity, storage, and workload issues.
- Enhance GitOps, CI/CD pipelines, automation, and infrastructure-as-code practices.
- Advance Ansible Automation Platform capabilities and operational automation.
- Provide platform lifecycle and upgrade planning guidance.
- Create technical documentation, standards, and operational runbooks.
- Deliver hands-on coaching and knowledge transfer to team members.
- Required Qualifications
- OpenShift Virtualization certification required.
- Extensive experience architecting, implementing, and managing enterprise OpenShift environments.
- Strong Kubernetes, OpenShift networking, and container platform expertise.
- Experience with GitOps, CI/CD, automation, and version control.
- Advanced Ansible Automation Platform experience.
- Proven ability to solve complex technical challenges and drive projects independently.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
