Staff Accountant

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Accounting, the Staff Accountant will play a key role in our accounting team, with a strong emphasis on accounts payable and general ledger accounting. This role will be responsible for processing invoices and weekly payments, preparing journal entries and working closely with other team members in a fast-paced, public company environment.

Responsibilities

• Process and review vendor invoices through Coupa, ensuring appropriate coding, supporting documentation, and approvals are obtained
• Assist with vendor setup and maintenance as needed
• Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and vendor inquiries.
• Maintain accurate and complete AP records and supporting documentation
• Assist with month-end AP close activities, including reviewing outstanding invoices and accrued expenses
• Prepare and process weekly vendor payments through Coupa in accordance with established payment procedures and internal controls
• Assist with cash activity and bank-related accounting, including recording miscellaneous cash receipts and disbursements
• Prepare miscellaneous and routine general ledger journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation
• Assist with bank and cash account reconciliations and investigate reconciling items
• Support month-end and quarter-end close activities
• Perform other accounting, compliance, and internal control-related responsibilities as needed to support the company’s financial reporting and growth objectives

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Previous experience with Coupa preferred
• Previous experience with NetSuite preferred
• 1-3+ years of accounting experience within the life science industry preferred
• Previous experience with accounting in a publicly traded company required
• Familiarity with SOX and internal control requirements
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to present numeric data effectively
• Exceptional time-management abilities and strong follow-through skills required
• Experience thriving in a fast-paced environment, managing competing priorities with minimal supervision
• Professional, team-oriented, collaborative, and “can-do” attitude
• Intermediate-to-advanced MS Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Compensation will be determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, skill set, years of experience, and the employee’s geographic location.

The starting base pay range for this position: $75,000 — $90,000 USD
