The Field Engineer is responsible for executing accurate and timely project layout activities for commercial concrete construction projects. This role manages project startup, daily layout operations, site control verification, and as-built data collection to support project accuracy, quality, and efficient field execution. The Field Engineer works closely with project teams and the FE Manager to coordinate layout schedules, maintain equipment, provide necessary documentation, and identify potential issues that could lead to rework.
The position also supports the company’s safety program and ensures all layout and as-built activities are completed in accordance with established standards and project deadlines.
Duties and Responsibilities
Project Startup:
Create a new project in the data collector.
Import the data files created by the FE manager.
Double-check site control to ensure everything is within tolerance to continue.
Coordinate with the project team on when and how the work will commence.
