Job Summary
Provides consultative, facilitative, technical and educational support to patients, families, physicians, care managers, finance departments and health care facilities with regards to post-acute insurance benefits and coverage and the types, appropriateness, levels-of-care and availability of local post-acute services in the service area.
Provides formal and informal education, formal and informal consultative support, facilitates benefit verification and, assists customer groups in the placement of patients in the appropriate post acute setting. Serves as a resource to the Spectrum Health Hospital Group, Spectrum Health Medical Group, Priority Health, Medical Staff, post-acute providers, vendors and the larger community. The consultant may provide coverage for, and be deployed in support of, Post Acute Community Liaisons.
