About the unit
8N is a 28-bed med/surg unit with a renal focus; we see a wide variety of patients who are in acute and chronic renal failure requiring hemodialysis and Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis. This unit gives you the opportunity to work with various disciplines including Nephrologist, social workers, case managers, and dieticians to develop critical thinking skills as well as clinical skill development. The unit has a close-knit group of nurses resulting in great teamwork.
There are 8 telemetry monitored beds in the unit to monitor the renal patient with cardiac complications.
