About the unit
2D Observation is a 21-bed unit at Blodgett who cares for a variety of patient populations. This team collaborates well and is proficient in delivering care in a timely manner. The observation operates as an extension of the emergency department caring for patients who are hospitalized for less than 48 hours. Being a part of this dynamic team allows you to strengthen your critical thinking skills and provide excellent patient care.
Some examples of the patient populations treated on the Observation unit include cellulitis, CHF, asthma, kidney stones, and TIA.
About the Hospital :
Blodgett is an ever-growing, 330-bed acute care teaching hospital located in East Grand Rapids. Originally founded in 1846, Blodgett has continued to grow and evolve to meet the needs of the community. As a Level III trauma campus with a large annual surgical volume, we are equipped to care for a wide range of acute care patients. We offer numerous specialty units that provide care unique to Blodgett in Grand Rapids, including Total Joint Replacement, a Primary Stroke Center, Acute Care of the Elderly, and Bariatric Surgery.
