Engineering Leadership & Talent Development
Lead and develop a high-performing engineering organization through effective hiring, coaching, succession planning, and skills development.
Foster and measure a culture of accountability, technical excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Technical Strategy & Architecture
Define and govern the technical architecture, engineering standards, and development practices that ensure scalable, secure, and maintainable software.
Guide key technology decisions and balance near-term delivery needs with long-term platform sustainability.
AI-First Engineering Transformation
Drive HYPR's adoption of AI-enabled software development practices to improve engineering productivity, quality, speed, and effectiveness.
Maintain and enhance governance, standards, and best practices for integrating AI across the software development lifecycle.
Software Delivery Excellence
Oversee successful execution of the AI software development lifecycle, ensuring teams deliver high-quality solutions aligned to product objectives and technical standards.
Drive continuous improvement in engineering effectiveness, predictability, and delivery performance.
Quality Engineering & Release Readiness
Establish engineering ownership of quality through automation-first testing, rigorous validation practices, and defined release quality standards.
Ensure all releases meet expectations for functionality, security, performance, and maintainability prior to deployment.
APIs, SDKs & Platform Development
Oversee development of HYPR platform services, APIs, SDKs, and product-owned integrations, ensuring consistency, quality, scalability, and developer usability.
Developer Productivity & Engineering Enablement
Drive improvements through modern tooling, automation, development environments, and engineering best practices.
Enable teams to operate efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality and craftsmanship.
Technical Health & Continuous Improvement
Own the overall technical health of the platform, including technical debt management, defect reduction, code quality, and long-term maintainability.
Establish metrics and accountability for engineering quality, productivity, and operational effectiveness.
Cross-Functional Partnership
Partner closely with Product Management, Corporate Security, Platform Operations, Presales Engineering, and Customer Success leaders to align priorities, resolve trade-offs, and deliver customer value through high-quality software releases.

10+ years of software engineering experience, including leadership of engineering managers and software development teams.
Proven track record building and scaling high-performing engineering organizations within SaaS, enterprise software, cybersecurity, identity, or authentication platforms.
Strong technical background in software architecture, cloud-native applications, AWS-based architectures, APIs, SDKs, and modern AI-enabled software delivery practices.
Experience leading end-to-end software development organizations, including architecture, development, quality engineering, test automation, and release management.
Demonstrated success improving software quality, release predictability, engineering productivity, and overall technical health.
Experience establishing engineering governance, quality frameworks, technical standards, and scalable software development practices across multiple teams.
Excellent written communication, decision-making, and functional leadership capabilities along with strong collaborator, providing clear direction with/to management and effective execution direction within the engineering teams/leads.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

Note: This position is hybrid - at least 2-3 days a week at our NYC office.

OTE (on-target earnings): $220,000 - $275,000 (USD)
On-target earnings (OTE) is the total compensation an employee can expect to earn if they meet their performance targets. It's a projected salary that includes an employee's base salary plus their variable pay.
Our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size and industry, and are one part of our total compensation package that also includes meaningful equity, benefits, and other opportunities at HYPR. Individual pay decisions are based on a number of factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to other HYPRions. We expect the majority of the candidates who are offered roles at HYPR to fall healthily throughout the range based on these factors.
