Overview

To obtain blood samples from patients by venipuncture or skin puncture observing proper phlebotomy technique and patient identification policies. Exhibiting a caring and courteous manner to all patients and guests is required. Responding immediately to STAT requests and drawing other specimens in a timely manner. Processing and receiving specimens into the laboratory computer system in the Central Processing area of the lab.

Responsibilities
- 1. To obtain blood samples from patients by venipuncture or skin puncture observing proper phlebotomy technique and patient identification policies. Responding immediately to STAT requests and drawing other specimens in a timely manner.
- 2. Demonstrates service excellence in all patient care activities exhibiting a caring and courteous manner to all patients and guests. Promotes teamwork and quality in all interactions with co-workers, physicians, physician offices, nurses and other departments.
